The flag carrier of Jordan was founded in December 1963 as Alia Airlines, named after King Hussein’s daughter. In 1986 the airline changed its name to Royal Jordanian. Starting with only three destinations, today Royal Jordanian operates more than 500 flights per week with more than 110 departures per day. Its 24 planes fly to 60 destinations in four continents.

The shortest route from Amman International Airport is Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport. Royal Jordanian operates two daily flights between Amman and Tel Aviv. The duration of the flight is 25 minutes, and the distance is 110 km. Many Israelis fly via Amman to other destinations in Europe, to the US, and to Asia such as Bangkok. Flying with Royal Jordanian via Amman may lower the price of your ticket.
