SAS - Scandinavian Airlines System is the largest airline in Scandinavia and the flag carrier of Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Its 180 airplanes serve more than 100 destinations in Africa, Asia, Europe and the US. SAS is one of the founding members of the Star Alliance and operates the EuroBonus frequent flyer program.

SAS was founded in August 1946 as a partnership between the three national carriers of each of the Scandinavian countries, until they merged in 1951. Currently, there are no scheduled flights from Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport.

How to Check-in

The time frame for online check-in starts from 22 hours until 1 hour before your flight. You can then choose your seat and print out your boarding cards before arriving at the airport. You will also be offered a discounted entrance to the lounge - €22/$30 instead of €28/$38. You may opt for mobile check-in and have your boarding card delivered to your device. Show your mobile boarding pass at security control, and at the gate. If you include your cell phone number when you make your booking, you will receive an SMS 22 hours before departure. All you need do is to reply "Yes, " and your check-in is completed. You will then receive a link by SMS to the boarding pass.You can also do a self-check-in at the airport’s kiosks where available, and if you need personal assistance, you can always go to the check-in counters at the airport.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

When you fly with SAS, you can always bring at least one piece of carry-on baggage free of charge, up to 8 kg. More baggage allowance is permitted depending on your ticket type and your EuroBonus level. Checked baggage allowance depends on your destination and fare level, as well as your frequent flyer status. Go light ticket have no allowance at all. Go tickets can check one item up to 23 kg, Plus have two items or 23 kg each and Business travelers to and from the USA or Asia can bring two items up to 32 kg each. Seating

You can purchase your preferred seat in advance, as soon as you book the flight for a fee, depending on the length of the flight. You can pick your seat for free starting 22 hours prior to departure during the check-in process and depend on availability. Economy Class seats have a generous 81 cm legroom. Economy Plus travelers enjoy 96 cm, and in Business Class you can completely stretch your legs with 155 cm of space.

Booking Fees

No matter with which credit card you pay, there in no extra booking fee. As always, Skyscanner doesn’t add any charges and costs.

Service on Board

All SAS passengers on intercontinental flights get meal and drinks during the flight. On routes between Scandinavian and European destinations, Business Class travelers will get a complimentary meal and drinks. Economy Class and all passengers on domestic flights may purchase food and drinks. There is a WiFi service for a fee, but if you are an Elite member of EuroBonus, you may get it for free. On intercontinental flights, there is an in-flight entertainment system which offers movies, music, and games on personal screens.
