If you want to head to another country for a couple of days then Mostar is a fantastic choice. It is located in Bosnia-Herzegovina and is a city with an old and exciting history. The town itself is scenic beauty and has a fairy tale atmosphere. The most notable sight is the Old Bridge which is one of the most photographed sites in the entire country. The city also has a thriving bazaar that is great for buying souvenirs and trinkets for friends and family.

Great place for walking around. Make sure to get here before the crowds not later than 10am. Make sure to explore from both sides of the bridge, my fav place is on the right on the rocks, it is the best for pictures.

Mostar has a lively Ottoman "Old Quarter" with cobblestone narrow lanes, but what the city is most famous for is the Stari Most (Old Bridge) the lovely 16th Centry Ottoman built bridge which arches its way across the Neretva River. The bridge was destroyed in 1993 during the Croat-Bosiak War, but has fortunately been re-built in 2004. It looks beautiful and is considered one of the finest examples of Ottoman architecture in the Balkans today. A tip, try to get up very early in the morning and be alone with the bridge - it is a special feeling.

Loved my day in Mostar. A great chance to see a bit of Bosnia -- peaceful place though remnants from the war can still be seen.
