Terminal Information - Departing

Flights from Munich to Tel Aviv depart from Munich Airport (MUC), located 28.5 km northeast of Munich. With flights to 248 destinations, this is the second busiest airport in Germany. EL AL, Transavia and also the seasonal flights of Arkia and Israir are handled at Terminal 1, while Lufthansa flights are being taken care of at Terminal 2.

You can reach the airport with S1 and S8 S-Bahn lines from Munich, with departures every 10 minutes. There is also a bus service from the city center connecting to the airport. The journey takes about 40 minutes, and a day single ticket costs €12.8. You can also take the Lufthansa Express Bus, a non-stop connection from the city center, no matter with which airline you fly. A single fare is €10.50, or you can purchase a return ticket for €17.

Terminal Information - Arriving

All flights from Munich to Tel Aviv arrive at Ben Gurion Airport Terminal 3. If you have a biometric passport, you can skip the lines at passport control. Go to the self-service machines located right after you exit the plane, or at borders control hall. If you have a hand-scanning card and a non-biometric passport, you can use the hand-scanning machines.

The number of the carousel where your luggage will arrive appears on the screen at the baggage claim area. The train station is located outside the arrival area at level -1. A single ticket to Tel Aviv costs ₪13.5. You can buy a daily ticket for the train and a bus to your final destination in the city for ₪21.5.

There are several bus services from the airport to cities nearby, as well as Beer Sheva, Haifa, and Jerusalem. There are no buses or trains during weekends and holidays. Service taxis (מוניות שירות) and regular taxis wait right outside the terminal, and they operate every day except Yom Kippur when the airport is closed.

Things you should know

When departing from Germany, your passport must be valid for at least three months after your departure date. Arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight, and even earlier than that if you need to submit tax return receipts or drop off your luggage.
