Direct flights to London from Israel arrive at three airports:

Gatwick Airport (LGW): easyJet operates cheap flights to London. The train and bus stations are located at the south terminal. The Gatwick Train is the fastest way to get to London city center, and taxis are the most expensive option.

Heathrow Airport (LHR): British Airways and EL AL flights arrive here. Every terminal has its own bus stop, train station, and taxi rank. The fastest way to travel to the city center is the Heathrow Express train; it takes about 20 minutes. The cheapest way is the Piccadilly Line, in 50-60 minutes the underground system will bring you to London.

Luton Airport (LTN): Cheap flights to London operated by easyJet, EL AL and Wizz Air arrive here. You can take the train, Green Line bus or easyBus low-cost transfer to get to London. If you take the train, start with the free shuttle bus to Luton Airport Parkway train station and from there take the train to London. All together it’s a little over 30 minutes ride. If you take the National Express or easyBus, it’s recommended to book tickets in advance.

City Airport (LCY): London-City is a small and functional airport, with only one terminal.

Stansted Airport (STN): The train station is located directly under the airport terminal. When you book tickets online in advance, prices start at £7. The train will take you to Liverpool Street.

Southend Airport (SEN): Trains to London Liverpool Street take 53 minutes or 44 minutes to Stratford station. Off-peak single tickets start at £13.20 to Stratford and £16.20 to Liverpool. Coach and bus services are also available.

When to visit London

London is one of those places that anytime is a good time for a visit. In the spring the days are getting longer and the temperatures averaging 11-15 degrees.
