Badbugs again

I stayed at the Ootel on Avenue der Kosmonauten. Overall, I have no major complaints about the hotel itself: it’s a standard budget spot—modest but clean, with decent staff—and seems like a reasonable choice for the price.
However, the entire experience was completely ruined by one critical issue: there were bedbugs in the room.
I woke up in the middle of the night feeling itchy; I turned on the light and actually saw them on the sheets. Naturally, I couldn't sleep there after that, and I spent the rest of the trip on edge, terrified I might bring those nasty things home in my suitcase. They did change my room at the front desk at 3 a.m., but the thought of spending the night there was still terrifying.
It’s a real shame, because otherwise it’s not a bad hotel, but I definitely can't recommend it due to the pests. Where are the health inspectors!!!???

Bed Bug Infestation!

For the sake of your own health and social responsibility awareness, please please avoid this place! The whole property is severely infested by bed bugs. Please see attached written feedback from the Public Health Department, confirming they have been repeatedly in contact with the hotel’s management due to REOCCURRING bed bug incidents.
The private room I booked was seemingly clean, so I in fact kindly wrote a great review for the property after their receptionist Sido explicitly asked me to write a good review which he also did with other guests as I heard. The symptoms of bed bug bites showed up one day later and my entire body was covered in huge, red swellings which needed treatment at the hospital. I’m extremely well-travelled, and have stayed in both high-end hotels and cheap youth hostels, but have never ever experienced anything even close to the extremely emotionally distressing disaster at Ootel.
The hotel’s manager had a meeting with me in their receptionist Yasmin’s presence and promised to issue a full refund only to entirely break his promise the moment I left the hotel. This is how they conduct business - the most unbelievable behavior I’ve experienced. This is no different than fraud. To be fair, the receptionist Yasmin was friendly and helpful. She wrote a written confirmation in German that I would receive a full refund. However, the manager backed out of his promise when I called back enquiring the status of my refund. Lowest behavior ever.

Accommodation looks like an abandoned hospital building remodelled to a hostel. It is practical to sleep there, but not much else. Bed makes noises when you move and it didn’t smell too well. On the positive note, the rooms are spacious which makes it easy to manage your luggage. I think I would only consider this place again if this is the only affordable option in Berlin.

If you are in a jam, it's a bed. No hot water, small towels, no shampoo, no lamps - one overhead light, bathroom floor small height difference so you stub your toes multiple times, door lock got me stuck inside for 10 minutes, no phone in room to call front desk, elevator was broken. Good luck.

I would not stay here again. The walls were extremely thin. We requested a non smoking room and all we could smell in the room was cigarettes. Also, the window would not open. There was no air conditioner and the room was extremely hot. The bathroom was tiny and when we showered the whole floor was completely wet to the point where we couldn’t use the bathroom after. The floors looked like they haven’t been cleaned in months.
