More a boutique hotel than a hostel, fabulous

We spent one night, I wish it had been more, being so well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and Cocho even shared his recipe for the freshly made cake we had at breakfast.
Dinner was wonderful and was all locally sourced fresh produce, it could not have been better. The countryside around the hotel is lush and beautiful . The hospitality made a good stay into a great one, I hope we will be back soon.

Great boutique hotel - great food

For any UK travellers looking at this place dont be put off by the wordHostal in the title - this is more of what we would class as a rural boutique hotel.
The rooms are nice, the food is great and the hosts friendly and efficient.
All I would say is that you give them a call on your way to the hotel to inform them of your ETA in order that they are aware of your arrival - they live in the hotel so should always be around the place.

Closed!Poor customer service from Logis de France.

Booked for night of 18th via Logis de France website.The hotel is in the Pyrenean foothills and we were looking forward to a comfortable night after a long drive from Le Mans.(We were on our way to our property in Southern Spain.)It was difficult to find,but on arrival,the gates were closed and bolted.A nearby bar owner said that it had been closed for some time.My real beef is with Logis de France for not informing us.I emailed them,and they blamed the owners for not telling them!I am sure there must have been other guests before us who had the same scenario.As we had our dogs with us,we decided to keep driving and arrived at our property at 1am.Having used Logis a number of times and been pleased, we found their attitude to our plight to be very poor.No proper apology has been received.

Peace, rest and a great companion!!!

Being an "exiled" Spaniard there was no better place to feel back at home than at Gartxenia! Their owners are nice, knowledgeable and soooo kind. The surroundings are amazing, the food is marvelous (please try their home made yogurt included in their breakfast) and Navarra is paradise on earth.
I would definitely recommend this amazing place!

What vacations should be

Hostal Gartxenia in the Ultzama valley outside Pamplona is what vacations should be. The two owners Koxko and Txomin are knowledgeable, friendly, efficient and professional. My stay was filled with great food from their restaurant, lots of laughter, afternoon naps in their garden and going to sleep listing to neighboring cow bells peacefully clanking. The rooms are large, comfortable and very clean. Both owners go out of their way to answer questions, provide recommendations and insights and are helpful. Although not really a place for children, it is more a romantic getaway or couples retreat. I cannot think of a better place to spend some quality vacation time and recommend them 110%
