⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A little gem in Duino
There are places to stay where it only takes a few moments to immediately feel at ease, and therefore truly on vacation: for us, Stella Maris was one of these. We only stayed for three days, but we left with the certainty that we will return.
The B&B is a charming independent villa nestled in a garden tended with love, in a truly happy location: convenient to services, close to beautiful beaches and many places to discover, perfect as a starting point to get to know Duino and the beauties of its surroundings. The possibility of having a parking space is also very convenient, a detail that is anything but negligible when traveling in this area.
Without overlooking the price-quality ratio: truly exceptional!!!
The cleanliness is impeccable, both in the common areas and in the rooms, which are taken care of daily with great attention. Our room was a little jewel: cozy, cool, and quiet, equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, and soundproof windows. One of those environments where, returning after a day spent between the sea and sightseeing, it is truly pleasant to find yourself.
In the morning, an excellent breakfast awaited us, sweet and savory, varied and prepared with care, with attention also for those who may have special needs, such as the need for a gluten-free diet.
And then there is Michele, a very kind host, present with discretion and never intrusive. He knows and loves his territory and you can perceive it from the way he knows how to suggest places to visit, beaches to discover, places to eat, and little corners that perhaps, as simple tourists, we would risk not knowing. My husband was also lucky enough to go on a boat excursion with him and came back enthusiastic, describing it as a simply wonderful experience.
Perhaps this is exactly what remained with us from the Stella Maris: not just a beautiful room with a super comfortable bed, but the pleasant feeling of being guests in a place to which someone dedicates attention and passion.
Three days flew by too quickly, between the sea and the wonders of this land. We left with a bit of sadness and with a promise that will be very easy to keep: to return.

B&B Stella Maris…a pleasant discovery!
The B&B Stella Maris was a pleasant discovery! The hosts Michele and Alba are very kind, helpful, and ready to satisfy any need of the guests. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The sweet and savory breakfast is abundant and varied. We will definitely be back!

Always a pleasure!
Staying at B&B Stella Maris, is like being a guest at a Friend's house! Michele is welcoming, helpful and very nice. He responds quickly to every need and staying with him is always a pleasure. Clean and complete rooms, varied breakfast and also suitable for all food needs. The location is convenient to everything and allows extreme independence. For all these reasons we have already returned once and will return again. Highly recommended!

Good place to relax
The Hosts attentive and nice. Nothing was missing in the room and the breakfast was satisfactory.
Pleasant walks in the village and in the surrounding nature, near Sistiana and its beach and the surrounding Osmize.

Nice cosy place in a good location
We stayed here for 5 days because it is an excelent starting point for visiting many great places such as Slovenian seaside and city Trieste, Soča valley, Kras and Goriska Brda or beautiful italian cities (Palmanova, Aquilea, Grado...) Breakfast is included and it is good even for nonitalian people and it is prepared on the terasse. Strong coffee, tea and cocoa, cheese, ham, prosciutto, yogurt, toast, cereals, honey, jam, bagels and of course many sweets. Bread was only white - that was a little bit disapointing because many people prefer wholegrain. Rooms are little small, but nice, cosy and clean, with small very quiet and usefull fridge, windows have double glazing so there is no noise from the street. Bathroom is ok with enough storage place, shower is a little small and the drain is slow but it is managable even for taller people. Parking is 50m away, free and safe. There is less than 5 minutes walk to the center of Duino, Rikle trail and castle and around 1min drive to the nearest supermarket. Owners are nice and helpful, younger girl named Francesca is also speaking english.
