Airports in Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv has two airports: Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) is located outside the city, and it is the primary port to Israel. Sde Dov Airport (SDV) is a small airport for domestic flights only, due to close in 2019.
Ben Gurion Airport (TLV): Flights from Eilat to Tel Aviv arriving at Ben Gurion Airport are cheaper compared to the domestic airport due to lower airport tax. All domestic flights arrive at Terminal 1. If you travel back to Tel Aviv by train, you need to take the free airport shuttle bus to Terminal 3 and from there take the escalators to level -1. Note that there is no public transportation on weekends and holidays. Taxis are available outside Terminal 1.
Sde Dov Airport (SDV): Pick up your luggage at the tent next to the terminal. If you carry hand luggage only, you can go out directly to the taxi station. Buses to Tel Aviv and surrounding cities are outside the airport in a walking distance. Just like TLV airport, there is no public transportation on weekends and holidays.
