***** Very nice campsite in a good location in Odense *****

We were a couple visiting in June 2026 for a few days with our motorhome at the DCU Camping Odense. At the reception, we were greeted very kindly and received a nice large spot both times. The sanitary building on the main path was always clean and offers everything that is needed. There are also sufficient showers and toilets available. The distance to the beautiful city center is just under 4 KM by bike, and you ride entirely on bike paths to get there. The prices quoted are okay.

DCU-Camping Odense offers a compelling mix of convenience and family-friendly amenities, making it a solid choice for exploring Funen's main city.
The Upsides: Location & Family Focus
The location is arguably the campsite’s strongest asset. It provides easy access to the main highway, which significantly simplifies getting around the Odense area and further afield. For tourists, the proximity to the city centre and major sites in Odense is a huge plus.
Families will appreciate the focus on children, most notably the swimming pool. While we didn't get a chance to test it ourselves, it's a clear draw for guests travelling with kids. We also noted a spacious public room available for tent campers and potentially for private celebrations, which adds welcome communal space.
Areas for Improvement: Facilities
The main drawback lies in the state of the facilities. The showers and toilets are noticeably outdated and are in need of a significant upgrade to meet modern standards and compete with top-tier campsites. While the site itself was clean and quiet, the condition of the service buildings detracts from the overall experience.
Final Verdict
DCU-Camping Odense is a practical and convenient base camp. It manages to balance its dated service buildings with an excellent location and good general upkeep.
• Would we recommend it? Yes, particularly for those who prioritize easy access and proximity to the city over luxurious amenities.
• Will we visit again? Perhaps. It remains a top contender when we need guaranteed convenience for quick trips or easy transit around Odense.

Do not believe anything you are promised!!!

Camping owners would accommodate us. See previous review. When I wrote the last review, I suddenly got an answer after 15 minutes while I hadn't heard anything for weeks. Typical of course! Suddenly it was going to be arranged but unfortunately for us after that contact again nothing heard so sad eexperience and certainly not recommended!!!

Good location - but unmodern and too expensive

Good starting point for experiences in Odense. The square is a distinctive transit place, which also has its charm. Fin pool. Staff is extremely service-minded and friendly. Good location for a nice bike ride into Odense along the river and nice to listen to the lions in the nearby zoo in the evening. But:
- There's really a long way between the water points
- the big service building is out of fashion. Sites at the same price offer significantly better conditions. The cleaning standard is good.
- there is a smaller service building in the far end of the square - only with quite a few toilets and two sink. The stand is really poor. Weary and ugly.
- so far it has been among our most expensive stays per day - even when DCU discount is included. There is no correlation between price and quality.
We know that DCU is working on renewing the venues. We look forward to this - but also look at the price structure.
It is necessary to reserve space as it is quickly filled up every day.

Nice and good campsite for everyone.

Now we have been camping with tents in Odense for several years. And it's always a place we choose to spend some days on each year.
As a wheelchair user, I love the facilities and love coming here with my family. Nice campsite with everything nearby.
