EL AL is the flag carrier of Israel and the largest airline in the country. It was founded in 1948, right after the establishment of the state of Israel. Its first flight took off from Geneva to Tel Aviv, and since then EL AL has grown to serve more than 40 destinations with its 42 planes fleet. The airline has destinations in Europe, the Far East, the Americas and Africa. EL AL fully owns UP, its low-cost branch, which flies to five destinations in Europe. The Israeli airline is not a member of any airlines alliance, and it operates the Matmid Club frequent flyer program. EL AL has codeshare agreements with several airlines, including American Airlines and JetBlue, with which the passengers can continue to dozens of destinations in the Americas.

Why Fly With El Al

How to Check-in

You can check-in for your flight with EL AL 24 to three hours before your scheduled departure. If you didn’t reserve a seat, a free seat would be allocated to you on availability. Once you completed the process, a boarding pass will be issued, and you will be able to print it. If you opt for check-in at the airport, the counters open three hours before departure and close 60 minutes before. Economy Class passengers should arrive three hours prior to departure, while Business Class, First Class and VIP’s may do so two hours before. Gates are closed 10 minutes before taking off, so make sure you are there during this time frame.
