Extremely disappointing
After we checked out, Hôtel Excelsior Opéra charged €350 to my card for alleged damage to the mattress, which we completely dispute.
Despite repeatedly asking for clear evidence proving the damage occurred in our room during our stay, we were never provided with satisfactory documentation. We called them multiple times to ask about the charge, but they were very rude and did not give us the time of day, putting us on hold for a long time and repeatedly passing us from one person to another.
We tried several times to resolve this by email and phone, but emails went unanswered and calls were repeatedly redirected or ended without resolution.
Charging €350 after checkout without providing clear evidence or proper communication is unacceptable. We ultimately had to dispute the charge through our bank because they refused to refund it.
I strongly recommend future guests take photos of their room at check-in and check-out, as we should have done.
