Forget Casablanca and Marrakesh - you MUST go to Fes!

This was my travel buddy Peta's sixth time staying at Riad Andalib and now I know why!
The location is conveniently located on the doorstop of the Medina with a taxi rank right outside the door - making it so easy to arrive and depart.
The owner Reibal is an generous and knowledgeable host - the doorman Omar was always on hand to lend a hand - Iman is incredible, she keeps everything ticking like a well oiled machine - and I couldn't forget Iman's cat Julian - a bit on the cranky side but still adorable.
A delicious - and massive - breakfast was included and I got to experience my first Pastilla (made from Reibal's family recipe).
I loved my time in Fes and look forward to returning one day.

Every Single Detail Is Well Considered

We spent 3 nights at Riad Andalib and it was such a fabulous riad. And I spent a lot of time researching our options. The riad is incredibly well run and is clearly a passion project for the owner who does his best to greet every guest upon arrival and each morning at breakfast. And not just a greeting, he takes the time to help you make the most out of your time in Fes. No detail has been left to chance, from the design of the rooms to the breakfast options. Everything is well maintained, clean and tastefully decorated. The staff is friendly and responsive. The location is perfect -- just outside the medina, making arrival and departure easy. Raibal ensures you know the best way to get to and from the medina for maximum enjoyment. He recommended a masterful guide for a tour of Fes, another passionate Fes local who loves history. The common areas are a terrific option to relax in the afternoon, after a day exploring and before dinner. We enjoyed the breakfast offered each morning and also the dinner one night during our stay. For a comfortable and most pleasant stay in Fes, this is THE place to be.

Magnificent!

A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square. Visiting Morocco from the UK, we have just had three wonderful nights stay at Riad Andalib, located in the exciting Medina of Fes. Built around an ornately decorated quadrangle, with a trickling water fountain at its centre, this beautifully restored traditional yet modern Riad is a calm, delightful and conveniently located place to stay when visiting Fes. The hand carved plasterwork decorations on the walls and ceilings are incredible, demonstrating the skill and dedication of many craftsmen. The rooms are well equipped, WiFi everywhere, with plenty of hot water and comfortable beds. The food is exquisite: large breakfasts fit for a King & Queen to set guests up nicely for a day visiting the sights of Fes. And the dinners are delicious: the best tagines and couscous we’ve had so far on our trip to Morocco. We received a very warm welcome from the owner, and all the staff, together with a super helpful brief and advice about visiting the Souks (including how to avoid getting lost). The Riad is also accessible by road, meaning you can be dropped right at the door by a taxi and avoid the difficulty of trying to carry luggage through crowded narrow walkways deep in the Medina. The name of this Riad, Andalib, translates as Nightingale and has inspired our choice of the famous song by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole (and many others) to title this review. Thank you to all the staff for a memorable stay. Very highly recommended to others visiting Fes.

An absolute gem!

We stayed at Riad Andalib on our recent trip to Fez and are we glad we decided to stay here. The owner, Reibal, is a thorough gentleman and one of the best hosts we have come across. He welcomes you into his home with an open heart and vast information on the history of Fez. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have an absolutely wonderful time in his beloved city.
There is no cap on breakfast hours and you are served with warmth every-time. The breakfast is really hearty with a lot of variety. We also had dinner and it was absolutely delicious and made as per your preference. We had to leave at 4 in the morning for our train to Marrakech and they packed breakfast for us!
Eman, the manager, is very lovely and helpful. She offered to dry our clothes when we came back soaking wet after getting caught in a downpour. Truly appreciate the kindness. And her cat, Julian, is the undisputed star of the Riad. Also a big shout out to Omar for always making sure you have everything you need.
The riad is very popular with the locals and is one of the pick up points for all excursions. It is very conveniently situated.
Staying at Riad Andalib makes you realize that traveling is less about visiting a new city and more about the people you meet, the stories you hear, and the connections you make.
Don’t think twice about making that reservation and experiencing all that this beautiful Riad has to offer.
