Berlin has two airports: Tegel (TXL) is the main airport, located 8 km from the city center, and Schönefeld (SFX) located 18 km southeast of Berlin.

Tegel: This is one of the busiest airports in Europe. You can take the TXL bus to Alexanderplatz or U and S-train stations. Buses 128 and 109 will take you to different parts of the city. Schönefeld: This is the secondary airport serving the German capital, located in the state of Brandenburg. To reach the city you can take S9 and S45, or Regional Express RE7, RB14 and RB 22. All of these options cost €3.4 for a single ticket (Zone ABC). You must validate your ticket. Otherwise, you might get a €60 fine. There are also several bus services connecting Schönefeld Airport to Berlin and its surrounding areas for the same price. Note that all tickets are valid for the whole transportation system, including regional trains, S and U trains, buses and trams. A taxi will cost you €40 and up. Alternatively, you can rent a car.
