Bangkok Airways was founded in 1968 as Sahakol Air, an airline which gave air taxi services. In 1986 it started operating scheduled flights and rebranded as Bangkok Airlines, becoming the first privately owned Thai airline. Only three years later Bangkok Airlines opened its first own airport, on Koh Samui. Today the airline owns three airports: Samui, Sukhothai, and Trat.

Its 28 aircraft fly to 11 domestic destinations and 14 international destinations, such as Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Singapore, and Vietnam. So when you fly from Tel Aviv to Bangkok, you have endless cheap and convenient options to travel in the region with Bangkok Airways. You can expect a very comfortable trip: in 2016 the airline won SKYTRAX best world’s regional airline and best regional airline in Asia.

If you have a connecting flight, you should allow yourself at least 75 minutes between landing and departing.
