Why Fly With Lufthansa

How to Check-in:

Lufthansa offers an online check-in service, available from 23 hours and up to five hours before take-off from Tel Aviv. You can also check-in with your cell phone. However, you can not use a mobile boarding pass on your outbound flight from Ben Gurion. On your return flight from Germany, you may use this option. You can also check yourself in through Check-in machines located inside the airports. In Ben Gurion Airport you would find it in Terminal 3 in level G. If you need personal assistance, you may do the check-in process at the counter at the airport starting 3 hours before the flight from Tel Aviv. You will find Lufthansa counters at level G, service desks regularly numbered 08-19.

Baggage Allowances and Fees:

All passengers in Economy and Premium Economy can bring into the cabin one item such as a trolley, no larger than 55x40x23 cm and no heavier than 8 kg. Business and First Class passengers can come with two items. Also, all passengers may go with another small handbag or a laptop bag if it can be stored under the seat in front of you. Thanks to an additional baggage allowance you can check in 23 kg for Economy, two items of 23 kg each for Premium Economy, two items of up to 32 kg for Business and three items of up to 32 kg when you fly First Class. In all cases, each piece of luggage should be no larger than 158 cm when you add up width, height and depth. Excess baggage is quite costly and can be $150-300, so make sure you don’t arrive at the airport with larger suitcases than these sized and weigh your luggage in advance. When you fly from Tel Aviv, you can take any amount of liquids and creams into the cabin. However, if you have a connecting flight you should pack them in the baggage you are sending into the hold since you will not be allowed to board the plane with items that contain liquids of more than 100ml. This rule also applies to your return flight. Read our full guide to Lufthansa cabin baggage here.

You can purchase a seat in advance for a fee, depending on your destination and the location of the seat. The seat reservation is free of charge for passengers in Premium Economy Class, Business and First Class.
