Thai Airlines is the National airline of Thailand. It founded on 1st May 1960, and 28 years later merged with the regional airline called Thai Airways Company. Thai is a founding member of the Star Alliance and operates the Royal Orchid Plus frequent flyer program. Its current fleet contains 89 planes which fly to 63 destinations in 32 countries in the Asia and the Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.

It has more destinations through its regional sub-company Thai Smile. In 2016 Thai Airlines received awards for the most improved airline, best airline spa facility, and 2nd place for best Economy Class catering. Thai Airlines has a codeshare agreement with El Al, so when you book flights from Tel Aviv to Bangkok with Thai - the flights will be operated by El Al. How to Check-in

Online check-in period begins 24 hours before your scheduled departure time, and you may complete it by one hour before. You may do so on Thai Airways website, and you can also opt for a mobile check-in via the airline’s app. Where mobile check-in is available, you can download your boarding card to your device’s wallet and present it at the airport. During the check-in process, you will be able to choose a special meal or to change your seat. Please note that if your flight is a codeshare, you will not be able to change your assigned seat. If you prefer the old school way, you can always go to the check-in counters at the airport and complete the process with the assistance of Thai’s representative.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Each passenger of Thai Airlines can board the cabin with one luggage no larger than 56x45x25 cm, including wheels, handles, and side pockets and up to 7 kg. Additional personal item is allowed, such as Handbag, wallet or purse with the maximum size 37.5x25x12.5 cm with the total weight 1.5kg. Your checked baggage allowance varies and depends on your frequent flyer status, your fare class, distance, and destination. On domestic flights, you can spread 30-40 kg across multiple pieces, on international sectors within TC3 and between TC2 and TC3 your have 30-50 kg. If your flight is a codeshare, other baggage policy may apply.

Seating

Your seat will be allocated to you during the check-in process. You may change it for free if there are seats available, however, if your flight is a codeshare, then you cannot make any changes. If the flight is operated by Thai Airways, the Economy seats are 79-86 cm, which allows you a comfortable space for your legs.

Booking Fees

There is no booking fee when you fly with Thai Airways. You can pay by MasterCard, Visa or Paypal. You have an option to save your reservation without paying for up to 24 hours; it will be automatically canceled if you don’t add a credit card.

Service on Board

A snack or a hot meal is served on all Thai Airways flights, depending on the duration of the trip. Each Economy Class hot meal offers a choice of the main course, salad, bread and fresh fruit or a dessert. Royal Silk Class passengers start their journey with a hot towel and a glass of champagne. Royal First Class travelers can get the taste of fine caviar with condiments, prepared for each traveler once settled into their seat. The in-flight entertainment system offers more than 1,000 hours of movies, games, and music on large personal screens. Wi-Fi service is offered on several routes, with packages starting at $4.99 for 10 MB and up to $34.99 for 100 MB.
