Search TAROM Flights

TAROM is the flag carrier of Romania, and it’s an acronym in Romanian: Transporturile Aeriene Române, Romanian Air Transport. TAROM was founded in September 1954, but its history can be traced back from 1920 when the French-Romanian Company for Air Navigation was founded. After the second world war there was a new organization owned by the Romanian government and the Soviet Union, and in 1954 the current name was introduced as the government purchased all of the airline’s shares.

In the 1990’s, after the collapse of the communist regime in Eastern Europe, TAROM started using western planes such as Boeing and Airbus and introduced long-haul flights to New York and Bangkok. In the past decade, TAROM upgraded its fleet and became a member of the SkyTeam alliance. Currently, its 21 planes serve almost 80 destinations, and Tel Aviv is one of them. There are ten weekly flights between Ben Gurion Airport and Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport. There are also two weekly flights between Tel Aviv and Iasi.
